SLJ - Day 4 Activity 1

 Hi Bloggers,

Today I finished my SLJ task which is 'What are you doing today?'. It was so fun and I have finished it. I had to make a copy of the slide and write sentences in maori. I enjoyed doing this activity. I found it hard to know what maori words say what but I eventually got it. My next steps are to not use the translater because I used it to help myself a little bit. I would like to learn a little more maori words and start to say sentences in maori. I might not keep zooming in and using the translater next time. I zoomed in so I can see what the picture was showing. Here are my slides.

I am still doing the step it up task so as soon as I finish that, I will add it to this post. (Including my drawing of me and my mom doing it together)

SLJ Day 3 Activity 2

 Hey Bloggers,

Today I made an optical illusion. They are an art that consists geometric shapes and patterns, usually they are black and white. Which is cool. I drew one which was for 'kick start'. I have also made one on my chrome book for the 'step it up'. Here is a picture of my hand-drawn optical illusion:

You will need: Paper, Pencil, Ruler, Cardboard and a Sharpie. Keep a cardboard under you piece of paper so the sharpie ink won't go through the paper. I made this by making lines. I made small lines and then big spaced lines. Which is kind of like a pattern. But before that I made a rectangle in the paper. Then made a line with small space, then another line with big space. I did that till the end. Then made lines that made it look like there are stairs going down. using the sharpie. Using my pencil I made the short spaced rectangle more dark. I did that and made one light shade from the second stairs and made it go all the way down. I watched a video and here is the name if the video: Easy 3D Drawing Illusions to Test Your Brain! I only watched the one to make stairs. I made my stairs a little bit more than the one in the video.

This will be my 'step it up' task. Here is my optical illusion DLO Template. I had to put the photo of my optical illusion on the google drawing, then write an explanation of how it works. Here it is:

I finally got to know how to add my video. Here they are:

This is part one. Here is part two:

Thanks everyone for look at my blog. I will be making more optical illusions so watch out for that too.

SLJ - Day 3 Activity 1

 HI Bloggers,

Today I finished my task for summer learning journey. The task was to make a kowhaiwhai on a google drawing. Here is a PNG of my Kowhaiwhai. I also have to draw one but haven't finished that. Here is a picture of my Kowhaiwhai:

SLJ - Step it up:

Who Is Tanerore? Tanerore is the son of Tama - Nui - Te - Ra and is the personification of shimmering air when he performs a haka for Hine - Raumati.

Can you spot the wiriwiri?

I couldn't find the wiriwiri. Even though I looked at the video a couple times. I did the actions but then I got tired. I didn't give up so I kept going.

Here is a picture of my hand drawn Kowhaiwhai:

Bye

Thanks for looking at my blog.

SLJ - Day 2 Activity 2.

 Hey Bloggers,

Today I finished my task. My task for today was insect art. I have to make an insect out of petals, leaves and things I find out in my yard. I watched a video from Raku Inoue who makes loads of different types of insects out of what he finds in his yard. So I basically searched it on the internet and got different colours of leaves to make my insect. My insect is the butterfly and its my favourite insect. Here is a picture:

It was hard to make but I eventually got the hang of it and made it. Have a great day everyone.

SLJ - Day 1 Activity 2

 HI Fellow Bloggers,

Today was the first day for the Summer Learning Journey. For today's task we had to write a comment. We have to keep it positive, thoughtful and helpful. Also if it is PT and H (Positive, Thoughtful and Helpful) you get bonus points. Positive is when you say something nice of someones blog post. Thoughtful is when it reminds you of something. Helpful is when you help them improve their blog post. Here is a screenshot of my comment:

Thank you for looking at my blog. Comment down below. Have a good day. Bye

How to make Soy Candles!

 HI Bloggers world,

Guess what we made today. If you guessed Soy Candles you are absolutely correct. If you said something else then you are wrong. But for real we made Soy Candles. If you want to buy Soy Candles than you should rather make them instead of buying them because they cost at least $52 dollars. Okay now I will tell you how to make them. Its really fun to make Soy Candles. when it was my turn to turn the soy wax, then I thought I would get burnt but I didn't. (Which is good) :)

Ingredients:

1. Good Fragrance mix

2.   Soy wax

3. Dried Lavender

Utensils:

1. Measuring Cups

2. Measuring Spoons

3. Pouring Jar

4. Double boiler

5.  Tealight holder

6. Wicks

7.  Thermometer

8. Wooden Stirrer

Fill the boiler with water. You need to only have a quarter of water. Keep your stove ready, put the boiler full of water on the stove. With the other boiler you have to fill it with a little bit of Soy Wax. Put a little more if needed. Put the boiler with soy in the boiler with water. Keep the soy at 75 degrees Celsius. Keep mixing but when the soy is 75 degrees then turn the stove off. Keep mixing the soy or else there will be lumps or it will get cold and it will stick to the pot. Pour the soy into the pouring jars and try not to let them get cold. Get your tealight holder and a wick. Put the wick in the middle and keep it straight. If it falls fix it. Using the warmed soy wax in the pouring jar slowly pour it into the tealight holder. Try to do it really slowly because if you do it fast it will spill. It's ok if it spills but move it away from the tealight holder or else it won't come off. Don't fill it in to the top, leave a small gap. When you are finished let it dry. When it has almost dried and a little bit of water need to be left to be dried, then with the dried lavender you can drop a few of its dried purple leaves. Then after when its fully dried then you have to leave it for a day. The next day you can start to use it.

Thank you for looking at how to make soy candles. :) Have a great day.

Disco + Food + Secret Santa + Dancing = So Much Fun

Buenos Dias,

Friday the 4th of December was really fun. I want to tell you all about it. We also had mufti for three days in a row because Emrico, Jaymalyn and Faisa chose mufti for getting 150 green tickets. Congratulations to them. Ok now back to the story:

Early in the morning when school was open and I was coming to school in my dad's car then I saw my friend: Daphnee. I waved at her and she saw me. My mum dropped me to my class and I put my belongings away, took my lunchbox and Chromebook (Inside the case) inside. I saw that Mrs Odean and some other kids were changing the table so we can put the food and Secret Santa presents on one table. Pranav brought Lollies. Sharmake brought popcorn. Keti brought sushi. Faisa brought the muffins. Mehdi brought roti wraps. Mrs Odean had brought Lollies, Peaches, Nectarine and two christmas trees (For the Secret Santa).

What happened around 12:50:

The bell had rung and we started to pack up and pull the blinds down. We put music on and just dance. We were dancing, spinning around, following the leader, siting down and talking. We also started to sing some of the songs. I got dizzy (hehe) so I sat down on the chair for a little while. I did some of the just dances that we put on. I was singing some of the songs JUST with my lips.

Mrs Odean (She was here because our class needs to have an adult around) was cutting the nectarines and the peaches in half. She opened everything else but not the lollies. When the bell rang for lunch eating at 1:25 then we sat down, ate some lunch. I had half a nectarine (It was delicious), some strawberries and a few crackers (The biscuit was lemon flavour and there was chocolate on it).

I sat at a table and ate, then when I was finished I got my lunch box and had my sandwich which was ham sandwich (My favourite). I put everything away and in my bag. At 1:40 (When the bell rang to stop eating) we sat down so Mrs Odean could hand out the..... SECRET SANTA PRESENTS!! My one was in a big bag. But my present was small. When Mrs Odean was finished then she said that we could open our presents. My one was small but I still appreciated it and it was beautiful, I loved it. It was a charm bracelet. The person who got it for me was Pranav. My friend Daphnee got Jenga, Mahrosh got a necklace that says 'Love', Aarna got a bunny, Emrico got warheads sour pack and Ahmed got warheads sour pack too.

My Secret Santa was Troy, I got him a ping pong set. He was very happy because he lost his old one. I am very glad of everything that happened on Friday. It was very fun, I was having a happy and a very fun day.

So that was how my day was on a Friday. Keep looking at my blog for more story and things that happen. Also, keep a look out for my Christmas poster. Ok Bye.

Art colouring book (SLJ)

 Hi World of Bloggers,

Today I finished colouring a picture called 'The Siesta'. If you didn't know what SLJ means then its short for Summer Learning Journey. First we had to go on a link to register. Second we had to put our school name in. Then we put our name, what year we are, teacher's name, blog link and if you can access the internet. I finished one colouring so far. It looks really really cool. It's a little hard to colour but I finished it last night. Here is the photo of the normal copy:

And here is the one I made and coloured. It looks really cool.

Thank you for visiting my blog!

T҉ a҉ b҉ l҉ o҉ i҉ d҉ ҉ R҉ e҉ f҉ l҉ e҉ c҉ t҉ i҉ o҉ n҉

 Hi Fellow Bloggers,

The first of summer went really because we did some tabloid activities. We were the leaders because we were the last class who had a turn to be leaders, Tabloid activities are like that there is a set of games and the group goes from this game to another game and so on. E.g: If there are seven groups and seven sets of activities then group one goes to the first game and group two goes to the second game and so on. It was really fun for me and hard because some issues that I will list down below.

My Reflection:

What went well while leading the activities:

1.  Demonstrating to everyone.

2.  Counting each teams scores.

3.  Taking turns to explain how to play.

4.  Everyone was playing nicely.

5.  Everyone had a go and participated.

6.  The kids (Room 8 and 9) were all having fun.

What didn't go well while leading the activities:

1. Leaders had to shout so that the participants can listen.

2. People were cheating by saying that they got in the hoop but they didn't.

3. Leaders were blocking the hula hoop goals.

4. No one was paying attention.

5. I had to tell some people to stop touching the bean bags twice.

6. They were throwing three bean bags and your not allowed too.

Thank you for looking at my blog post about 'Tabloid Reflection'. Comment down below if you liked my blog or saw a mistake that I can change and maybe more labels. But I hope you liked it. Thank you

ℍ𝕒𝕡𝕡𝕪 𝔻𝕚𝕨𝕒𝕝𝕚!

 HI Bloggers,

Today is Diwali and its really exciting. Diwali always falls in either October or November each year, depending on the cycle of the moon. It's observed on the 15th day of Kartik, the holiest month in the Hindu lunar calendar. On Diwali we make indian sweets and we do prayers. We made Murku, Sao and Nimkies. This Diwali I did the prayers, putting the diya everywhere around the house, lighting up candles in front of the house and using the incense around the house.

We celebrate Diwali because Diwali is called the Festival of Lights and is celebrated to honor Rama-chandra, the seventh avatar (incarnation of the god Vishnu). It is believed that on this day Rama returned to his people after 14 years of exile during which he fought and won a battle against the demons and the demon king, Ravana.

I wish you all lots of wealth, good health, happiness, peace and love.

Have a great Diwali! :)

Here is a photo of me:

Thanks,
Have a happy Diwali.

Making Diwali Diya

 HI Bloggers,

Today was a brilliant day. If you wanna know why then here's why, today we made an indian candle named diya out of clay! Isn't that cool? On Saturday its Diwali and on Diwali indians, make sweets and give them out to everyone.

If you don't know how to make a diya then here is how you make them:

Materials: Modelling clay, Glitter, Stars, Sequins.

Tools: Modelling tools, Scraper pointed end.

Method:

1. Break a piece of clay

2. Roll the piece of clay into a ball

3. Once you think your clay is in a nice shape of a ball you can flatten it with your palm.

4. Use your thumb to mould it into a shape of a bowl.

5. Decorate your diya.

6. Now it should look like a diya.

Here are some photos:

This is a photo of me with my diya.

This is a photo of my class and I with our diya.

This is a photo of me and my friends with their diya.

OK bye

Film Festival Reflection

 HI bloggers,

Today we did a reflection about the film festival. We made movies and edited them and now we have to write a reflection now.

Here is mine:

Complete your blog reflection on the film making process

Explain the steps.

Reflection: Film Festival

How did you feel about the film making process and why?

I felt good about the filmmaking process because we got it done quickly and we edited it very nicely.

What did you enjoy? I enjoyed filming because when you are recording you can use different shots.

What did you learn? I learnt how to split a movie in IMovie.

What was challenging? The challenging part was editing because you don’t know how to make one thing and you have to search it up.

If you could go back in time to the beginning of the term, what would you do differently?

If i went back in time i would just edit some mistakes like spell remember correctly, and take off the india flag from my name.

What advice would you give to someone creating a film next year? Add some voice over because that's how you can hear the person talking.

𝓡𝓮𝓬𝓲𝓹𝓮 𝓞𝓯 𝓜𝔂 𝓒𝓱𝓲𝓬𝓴𝓮𝓷 𝓒𝓪𝓻𝓫𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓻𝓪 𝓢𝓹𝓪𝓰𝓱𝓮𝓽𝓽𝓲

HI Guys,

Today I made Chicken Carbonara Spaghetti. I made the Spaghetti with my mum.

We first cooked the chicken so we don't have to do it afterwards and once we finished that, we put it in a different pot, while we cook the Spaghetti. Here is a photo of me mixing the chicken:

Now it is time to make the Spaghetti with everything else.

Ingredients: Chicken, Broccoli, Carrot, Spaghetti, Any green vegetables.

  • Get these ingredients ready: Cut chicken in small pieces, cut onion, broccoli, carrot. Boil Spaghetti.

  1. Heat oil, and garlic & ginger. Cook briefly.
  2. Add chicken and cook over medium heat.
  3. When Chicken is fully cooked add the pasta sauce.
  4. Add broccoli, carrot, onion & grated cheese.
This is the finished product:

Thanks for reading my blog post today! Bye!

Ⓛⓘⓣⓣⓛⓔ ⓖⓐⓡⓓⓔⓝ

Morena everyone,

Today my class and I we got some little pots with seed mats, soil and stickers on them, from our caretaker. This session was apart of our `Feed our Whanau' lessons we were taking in the past few days.

We made them in a very long time but it was still very fun. There were five steps to make it. If you want to know how then I will tell you.

  1.  Put the soil tablet in a small container and pour a little bit of water in it.
  2. Once the soil has adsorbed the water. Add the same amount of water you added before. You can use your hands or a glove to mix the water and the soil to make a wet mixture. Watch the soil expand.
  3. Use most of your soil, but leave a little bit to cover the top.  Fill the post 2cm below the top.
  4. Now place your seed mat on top of the soil with the paper. (Take care not to press down too hard)
  5. Now use the rest of your soil mixture that is left to cover the seed mat.

Remember to wash your hands after you're done.

To keep your little garden healthy just keep reading. There are only three to keep your garden healthy.

How to keep your little garden healthy.

  1. Place the pot on a clean saucer in a place with enough light, but not directly in the sun.
  2. Check the soil in the morning and before bed. If the soil feels dry and crumbly, a small amount of clean water the surface.
  3. If you see a little plant appear from the soil, well done! The seeds have germinated and will be ready soon to move into a bigger pot or garden.
And that's how you do it. Thanks for reading how to keep your plant healthy and how to grow it.

Feed your Whanau

HI Bloggers,

Today my class and I were so lucky to make delicious vegetarian Carbonara pasta. The lesson was led by Skids. This Carbonara pasta is vegetarian. We were also lucky to have Nestle give us bags of food to make the pasta at home. This means we can make the pasta at home. In the past few days we have been learning about healthy foods and unhealthy food.

Here are some photos:

𝕊𝕥𝕣𝕖𝕤𝕤 𝔹𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕤

 Malo e leilei Bloggers,
Today my class and I made some stress balls. Stress balls are balls you can use to let your stress away. I will show you a picture of my stress ball.

To make Diy Stress balls I will tell you the steps.

You will need: 3 three helium balloons, Rice/Flour, Funnel,

Blow a helium balloon halfway
Twist it a few times so the air can stay in the balloon
Put it on the neck of a bottle with rice/flour halfway in it (Make sure the bottle is dry or else the flour/rice will stick)
Tip the bottle over so the rice/flour can go in the balloon
Once all of the rice/flour is in the balloon, take the balloon out and be careful
Cut the neck of the balloon a little bit and dont cut it too much.
Take another balloon and and cut the neck halfway so its like a hat kind of.
Put it around your balloon (Make sure the second balloon is on top of the rice/flour hole.)
Do the same thing with another balloon but on the opposite side.

Thanks for looking at my blog about stress balls. Hope you liked it.

How to be relaxed

How to be relaxed

HI everyone,
Today I am going to tell you how to get relaxed when you are very MAD.

When you are angry try to let it go. Try not to vent out the anger on that very particular person. When you are angry you breath. When I mean breath then you need to do the steps of breathing. The steps of breathing are:

  1. Sit on a chair with your left hand on your tummy.
  2. Close your eyes and inhale through your nose.
  3. Count "3.. 2.. 1.."
  4. Then exhale through your mouth.
  5. Then repeat that ten times.
  6. When you are ready then you can open your eyes.

When you have finished doing that ten times then, ask yourself a question. Are you relaxed? How are you feeling right now? When i did this with my class then I felt quite relaxed.

Hope you liked reading my blog post about how to be relaxed.

Mini Film Festival Challenge

HI Bloggers,
How was you day? Mine has been so good! At my school we were doing Ako Hiko Film Festival, but now we are doing a Mini Film Challenge. We had to put it on our and some things. So i'm gonna start writing those things. What I learnt was how to put a audio into Imovie, and more things in Imovie. The mistake Me and my cousin made was that you could see the recorders clothing and that was my cousins clothing. (That was embarrassing for us). The tips I have for others are have a nice background, Don't keep it messy and try to keep the camera still. Here is the link to my movie. Hope you like it.

Hope you enjoyed. Stay safe bye

Going out

 HI Bloggers,
Today was a fun day and I'm going to share my small paragraph of writing. I did it with my class and it was very fun. The writing was collaborative writing.

Here it is:

I am looking forward to going out with my family and friends, because during lock down/quarantine we haven’t been able to go anywhere. I am feeling so happy because next week, we will go back to school/work. I was feeling a bit scared of big gatherings and Covid - 19. I’m also very sad because I can’t go anywhere until next week.

Thanks for looking at my blog.

My Best Holiday Writing

HI Everyone,
Today I am going to share with you a piece of writing that I wrote last year. It is about my trip to Rotorua. Rorotua is a beautiful place and I recommend you to go there some time. I even wrote the five w´s and the one h.

Here is my writing:

Where? Rotorua, New Zealand
What? We had fun and had some time out with each other
When? 08/07/2019
Who? My Brother Neal, My Mum, My Dad, And I
Why? For fun and we wanted to go there
How? By car

It was early in the morning, we were about to go to Rotorua. We went to Rotorua because we haven’t gone anywhere during the holidays. I was really excited. I was going to Rotorua with my mum, dad, my brother Neal, and I. We packed our bags and put it in our van. After we went to Rotorua at 7am. On our way to Rotorua we saw the Waikato river, goats, cows, horses.

Once we got to Rotorua my dad parked our van in the parking lot of Pohutu Lodge, and then he went to the reception to get the key of room 1. We went in and the first thing we saw was stairs on the right, a toilet right in front of us, and a room a few steps away from the toilet.

After, my mum and dad took all our belongings from our van so my brother  Neal and I could take all our belongings upstairs and some bags downstairs. After when all our bags were inside the motel, we all went in, took our shoes off, and then we went to have some tea, barbecue, and some coke, we were also watching TV.

While my mum and dad were upstairs my brother Neal and I went downstairs to see what is in the room. When we stepped in the room then we saw a spa, two mirrors, TV, bed, draw, and a heater. When we saw the spa then we said to each other “When it is 7 o’clock we will go to the spa one by one”. I said ¨Yes!¨.

Me and my brother Neal went upstairs to do some things. Once the time was 7pm then we went downstairs with our parents to get the spa ready. My brother Neal and I decided that I will be going second and my brother Neal will be going first. When I went to check on my brother Neal when he was in the spa, I first knocked on the door, then I opened the door and saw so many bubbles and water.

After my brother Neal was out of the spa I told him “Can you stay with me when I am in the spa”?  My brother Neal said “Yes”. We had dinner and went to sleep after a while. I said to myself ¨ I had such a nice day today.

The Next Day

The Next Day we woke up, Brushed our teeth and went to eat breakfast. While we were having breakfast we decided where to go today. We looked at the paper with places to go and decided to go to Wai - O - Tapu Thermal Wonderland and geyser park. After breakfast we went to Wai - O - Tapu Thermal Wonderland.

We got to Wai - O - Tapu Thermal Wonderland and went in. It was hot there. But I loved it. My favourite part was when there is wood on top of the very hot steaming geyser and you have to walk on it. It was so cool walking on top of some hot steaming geyser.

After that, we went to geyser park which had some funny geysers that looked like mud. They were boiling up and bubbling so much. We took photos and then went to our hotel. When we went back to the hotel Neal and I one by one went to the spa to shower. We went to sleep.

The Next day

We woke up and Brushed our teeth and went to eat breakfast. When we finished we packed our bags and went home.

Here are some pictures:

This was where we had to walk on
