Holiday Blogging Activity 1

 HI Bloggers,

Today I am going to post about my first holiday blogging activity. The activity was to make a fish. I made two family of fishes. They look cute, but I want to show you instead of telling you. I learnt about more ways of making fishes. Trying to do different shapes and sizes for a fish. Its not hard but its pretty easy. This will help me at school. It will help me because then I can make more animals out of shapes.

Here is my work:

Thanks for looking at my post. Have an awesome day.

Bike Riding - Without Training Wheels!

Hi Bloggers,

On Tuesday and Wednesday we had some training. The training was for people who don't know how to ride a bike and people who do know how to ride a bike. I was one of them! On this day we had our session at 9 o'clock in the morning. There were a lot of students in our class who did know how to ride a bike. So they went with coach Loney and did some games. On Tuesday we had coach Loney and coach Jason. The rest of the students were the people who don't know how to ride a bike without training wheels. I didn't know how to ride a bike without training wheels so I went with coach Jason.

Before we went on the bikes coach Loney made sure we all had helmets and that they were on properly. But we couldn't get on our bikes just yet! We needed to know the three rules. The rules are no name calling, respect the bike and others on the bike, and have fun. Then we went to a bike and how to check your bike. The rules started with the first four letters of the alphabet. The first one was A and it was air so we checked the air the wheels. B was brakes, we had to check our brakes by pushing them forwards and backwards while pushing the brakes. C was the chain and we moved our pedals so we could see if they work. Last one was D and it was directions. We put our legs on sides of the front wheel and moved it around.

To be honest with you I was really nervous because I thought I would fall. The first things coach Jason told us to do was to try gliding. By gliding he meant as if your legs are paddling for you. You have to do that fast three times and then you stop gliding and just lead your bike around. The second thing we did was to try and pedal after gliding. I started to get the hang of it. Coach Jason said that we can go on the grass if we are confident. My friend Sascha and I went on the grass but it was hard on the grass than on the concrete. After that we were finished for our first lesson.

Day 2 of Bike Riding

It was a rainy day but by the time we needed to go outside it wasn't raining. On this day our session was at 11:25 am. Coach Jason wasn't there that day, so we had a new coach. His name was coach Nigel. We greeted our coaches and got started. As usual coach Loney made sure we had helmets on and that the helmets were on properly. Then we got the same bike and went to our groups. What I mean is that the people who don't know will go with Nigel and the rest with coach Loney.

We did the same thing with coach Nigel as what we did with coach Jason. Push on the concrete three times and then let go. This time some of us had to share a bike. So I shared with Sascha. Our coach said to us to try and just pedal instead of gliding. For Sascha and I, it was really easy. Coach Nigel gave Sascha and I some challenges. He first told us to stand up but it was hard. He then told us to high five him which was easy. After that we did some more turns on the bike.

Then we were at the end of our session. We didn't have anymore sessions because it was our last week at school. Coach Loney said to the learners to come forward. We went forward and then she told the rest of us that these kids learnt how to ride a bike in two days. The whole class applauded the learners. She told all of us to have a great holiday. Then we left, but we didn't leave with thanking our coaches. Once we thanked them as a class we went back to our normal class.

The Wonder Project - Final Test Flights

 Hi Bloggers,

Today we did our final test flights. When the morning tea bell rang my class quickly fixed our rockets. Then we went to room 8 and we started giving gifts to Colm. Colm had his last lesson with us today so we made him a card. Room 8 made a video for him. The video had kids saying thank you and how awesome it was for him to teach us. Neha from room 8 said a little speech on behalf of the senior school. (Year 4, 5 and 6 people) Once we went through some of the things that we needed to know.

Room 6 then went to Keith Hay Park followed by room 9 and 8. Team Wonder went first and we had decided to put 200ml of water and 50psi. All of the senior classes were gonna do a competition of which rocket can go the furthest. My group one didn't go that far. It only went 25 metres far. In our class the furthest one was 37.6 metres. I don't really know which one went the furthest.

Subway for lunch = We are so lucky

 Kia Ora,

Today we were so lucky to have Subway for lunch. We did a survey about our neighbourhood. The survey asked questions like: If you wish that you wanted something in your neighbourhood, what is it? There were lots more questions then that though. I said that I would wish to have an amusement park. Once we did our surveys we submitted it. Then a couple of days later we got to know that we won Subway for the whole class because we did that survey. In the morning Mrs Odean told us that we will get our Subway today. We got super excited about that.

The Subway was a combo with a water bottle, napkins, cookie and of course the main meal the Subway. We were all told to eat our main meals first and then the cookie. We had gotten three boxes of different types of Subway. They had different types because some people have allergies. There are some acknowledgements that my class and I want to make as well.

A special thanks to Kāinga Ora for the survey and the Subway. Another thanks to Piritahi.

Thanks. Have a great day!

The Wonder Project - The Finale Modifications and Improvements!

 Hi Followers,

This week we were doing our finale improvements and modifications. For our group we had to make three new fins because our old fins broke off. We also wanted to make them out of plastic. None of us had brought plastic but thankfully another group gave some to us. We had a piece of string that we used for the centre of mass and pressure. Colm said we have to take it out so we did. We also made a new nose cone because our other nose cone wouldn't fit properly. That was all of the improvements that we did.

Here are some photos of the groups doing their improvements:

Thanks. Have a great day!

Origami

 Hi Bloggers,

One Friday my class and I were able to make origami. We searched up origami on YouTube and all of us found lots of different types of things to make. Loiloi, Aarna and I had made lotus flowers. Alisi and Besi had made swans. When I came home on this day I made several types of origami. But my teacher said to do a blog post about it once you have finished. I only got to make a lotus flower. I did try to make a rose but it ripped and I threw it in the bin.

You can always search on YouTube for crafting things. They always have amazing origami shapes. On that very Friday, at home I stayed up until 12:00a.m making a pop it out of paper. I will add my other origami shapes on a different post.

Here is my lotus flower:
