Learning to cook in lockdown

Hi Bloggers,

How is everyone's lockdown going? Mine is okay, I have been calling my family and talking to them. Also I have been playing with my friend in Minecraft. While we are in lockdown my mum has been teaching me how to cook. I used to help my mum when I was a little kid. So I do know a little bit about cooking. Before we did renovation to our house, we had a wall between the kitchen and lounge. I used to sneak into the kitchen and wash the dishes. I was too small so I used a small stool to wash the dishes.

So far I have helped my mum so many times this year. But there will be more. So today my mum and I made chicken curry, dhal and rice. I would have to say our food was super yummy. I am sure you would want to make this as well. So I will write down the ingredients and how to make it down below.

Chicken Curry Ingredients:
  • Oil
  • Chicken
  • Crushed Ginger and Garlic
  • Half Onion
  • Chilli - Green
  • Turmeric
  • Masala
  • Diced Tomato
  • Coriander
  • Salt
How to make Chicken Curry:
  1. Make sure you turn your stove on. Put three tablespoon of oil in the pot.
  2. Once the oil is hot put your chopped onion in the pot. Now mix until it's golden-brown.
  3. After it's golden-brown add all the crushed garlic and ginger. Keep mixing.
  4. Add one teaspoon of turmeric and masala and then mix.
  5. Now add your chicken and keep mixing.
  6. Put 1 and a half teaspoon of salt and keep mixing.
  7. Next put some tomato. Make sure to not put all of it, just half.
  8. Cook on slow heat until the chicken is cooked. If you want you can put a little bit of water.
Dhal Ingredients:
  • Yellow Peas
  • Red Split Peas
  • Salt

How to make Dhal:
  1. Wash the yellow peas and red split peas.
  2.  Now get a pot and put water in it.
  3. Add your yellow peas and red split peas in the pot.
  4. Get a another small pot and put two tablespoon of ghee.
  5. Now add three teaspoon of salt.
  6. Put two crushed garlic. One fresh green chilli.
  7. Put one teaspoon of turmeric in. Add these in the the pot full of yellow peas and red split peas.
  8. Now let it boil until the dhal is soft.
  9. Once the dhal is boiled get another frying pan and put ghee in it, then put half onion and four crushed garlic. When it turns golden brown then mix it into your dhal.
That is the end of my blog post. My Favourite Memory In Lockdown

 HI Bloggers,

Today I will write about my favourite memory in lockdown. My favourite memory would be the time when I had got my night light. I saw this night light and it looked really amazing. There were different designs and it was hard to choose which one, but then I knew. I chose one which I loved the most. My one was two unicorns together with two hearts in between. I also chose a 16 colour remote with some different modes too. My dad had bought it for me and it took ages to get to New Zealand. But when it finally got to New Zealand I was really excited.

I started to think that it would't come because it took so long. But one day when I was getting ready for my online class, my brother told me that there is something in the mailbox. That's when I knew it was my night light. My brother had brought it inside. We started to open it and then build it which was easy. It had a base and then it had the 3D unicorn. The light came out of the base and then onto the plastic which had the unicorn design on. My brother had also got his own tiny parcel and it was black dye. On that same day at night I turned my night light on to see how it looks and it looks fascinating and bright.

I place my night light on a small table and sometimes at night I place it in front of the T.V. If I want I could use some batteries or a USB. I would want to have it on at night and I will use the batteries not USB because I don't have any power point in my bedroom.

I don't have a picture right now but once I do have one then I will put it on this blog post. Thanks for looking at my blog. Keep an eye out for the pictures. Remember to be safe and kind, do not fight over toilet paper, don't get the Covid-19, Please wash your hands, Wear a mask if you need to, Wear gloves if you need to, please do not get bored at home, do something.

Can you guess my metaphor?

 Hi Bloggers,

Today I was making a metaphor, I was drawing not just writing a metaphor down. So this one is a bit like the simile one I did the other day. I will add my metaphor in and you must try and guess it. Then comment down below to see if your answer was correct. You can not cheat by looking at other peoples comments. I will also add a list of metaphors. I don't know if my metaphor will be easy, for me it did look a bit easy. But you can also write in your comment if it was easy or not. So now I will show you my metaphor:

This is my metaphor. Also I hope that you can guess it.
Here is a list of metaphors:

The wolf howled like the wind.
You are my sunshine.
She has a heart of gold.
My nephew is a cuddly baby bear.
You are the apple of my eye.
Life is a game.
The sun is a creature of habit.
She's a snake in the grass.
He's a couch potato.
Time is money.
Julia is a chicken.

Thanks for looking at my blog.
